About The FIRM Guide

This site is the companion to The Recoverable Family by R. Martin Colby. The book teaches the FIRM System — a finite way to organize your family's important information so that, if something happens to the person who manages everything, the right people can still find what they need.

Each Module in the book has a template. To keep the book readable, the full templates live here. Find your Module, download or print the template, fill it in privately, and store it in your own Vault.

The three artifacts

• The Vault — your secure, family-controlled container (a fireproof safe, a password manager, an encrypted folder, or a combination).
• The Secure Guide — the detailed record, kept inside the Vault.
• The Family Guide — the sanitized orientation layer, safe to keep with household documents.
